Washington Square Academy (WSA) was born during the pandemic. It's a small school that started in Washington Square in Brookline, moved to Wells Ave in Newton in 2025, and back to Brookline Village where it is currently situated. The school serves students in 5th through 8th grade.

Washington Square Academy offers an honors curriculum to its students with a focus on STEM, Writing, and Executive Functioning skills​​.

The school is a registered public charity.

Washington Square Academy is located in Brookline Village, virtually next door to Pierce School.

In 2026, WSA received a STEM grant from the Toshiba America Foundation to launch the Integrated Food Systems & Environmental Engineering Lab — a 12-week program where students in grades 6–9 design and build a modern aeroponic growing system from the ground up, applying environmental science, biology, data analysis, and mechanical design.
