Lawrence School serves kindergarten through 8th grade students from Coolidge Corner, Cottage Farm, Brookline Village and the Saint Mary’s Street area. Kids from both sides of Beacon Street attend Lawrence.
Lawrence is the closest of all Brookline elementary schools to Longwood Medical Area. It’s approximately half a mile to the hospitals on Longwood or Brookline Avenue.
Fully renovated in 2003-2004, Lawrence has a large outdoor park with two baseball fields, three tennis courts, two basketball hoops and a playground for little kids. In the spring the park hosts little league baseball games.
Real estate in the Lawrence School district is a mix of all types which is an indication of the diversity of students that attend the school. There are a number of condos in the form of brownstones on and between Longwood Avenue and Beacon Street. In addition, there are some gorgeous single-family homes on Kent Street, the Longwood Mall, Amory Street, and Powell Street. And the entire Cottage Farm area is another very affluent part of Brookline.
Lawrence School is conveniently located 5 minutes by foot from both the MBTA C and D line. Both trains transport people in and out of Boston. D-Line stops include Brookline Village and Longwood Avenue. The C-Line stops include Saint Paul Street, Kent Street, Hawes Street, and Saint Mary’s Street.
