Brookline Elementary Schools
Brookline operates eight public elementary schools (listed below) that teach kindergarten through eighth grade (K-8). Most children attend their neighborhood school but some areas fall into a “buffer zone” which means a child may attend one of two schools. Because Brookline is a relatively small area, some of the schools are located within a half mile of one another providing families and the town flexibility with respect to the school a child attends.

Some 4,583 students are enrolled in Brookline elementary schools. That does not include children enrolled in pre-k.
Elementary school hours are Monday-Thursday, 8 AM - 2:30 PM and Friday, 8 AM - 1:40 PM. Each school has an extended day program that is not affiliated with the school.
Each school also has a volleyball and basketball team composed of 7th and 8th graders who compete against the other elementary schools in Brookline.
