Corey Hill is a charming residential neighborhood located in Brookline partially along the Allston/Brighton border. The apex of Corey Hill is the top of Summit Avenue where Corey Hill Park, a popular destination for both residents and visitors offers panoramic views of the Boston skyline and Cambridge. The lowest points of Corey Hill run along parts of Washington Street, Beacon Street, and Bartlett Crescent..

Known for its beautiful architecture, the area is home to a mix of single family homes including several historic Victorian homes, charming brick rowhouses, and modern condominiums. The diverse range of architectural styles adds to the neighborhood's unique character and appeal.

Corey Hill is predominantly located in the Driscoll School district. The new Driscoll School opened in November, 2023 after undergoing more than two years of construction and even more years of planning.

When it comes to dining, Corey Hill has a variety of options to choose from. The neighborhood is home to a mix of casual eateries, fine dining restaurants, and international cuisine, ensuring that there is something to suit every taste. Popular local spots include Rod D, Barcelona (Washington Square) which offers a menu of Spanish tapas and an extensive wine list, and The Abbey (Washington Square), a cozy gastropub known for its excellent American cuisine.

Parks

  • Corey Hill Park: Divided in 2 by Summit Avenue, this pretty park features mature oaks and maples that line both edges of the street, clearly defining the sides of the park. The southern part contains a playground and the northern part features a large open sloped lawn perfect for picnicking and sunbathing.   • Griggs Park: Marion Path, located at the bottom of Summit Avenue on the Beacon Street side along Marion Street leads directly to Griggs Park making it easily accessible for Corey Hill residents. Griggs is arguably the most beautiful park in Brookline with weeping willows standing prominently over the circular green space where kids play on the structures, and dogs roam on the grass. With a number of benches too, this is a great place to kick back and relax.

Public Transportation

The MBTA Green Line C train stops at the foot of Summit Avenue in Brookline along Beacon Street taking passengers to Coolidge Corner, St, Mary’s Street and Boston in one direction and Washington Square and Cleveland Circle in the other direction. In addition, the B-Line train stops along Commonwealth Avenue at the intersection of Warren Street and Washington Street and takes passengers to downtown Boston in one direction and Boston College in the other. For the sake of clarity, the B-Line train is accessible on the opposite end of Summit Avenue if you walk towards Allston/Brighton.

Schools

  • Driscoll School: Prominently located along Washington Street, the new Driscoll School opened in November, 2023 and is capable of accommodating four sections per grade.
  • Brookline High School: The town’s only public high school is one of the most highly-regarded high schools in the state and about a mile from Corey Hill.

Restaurants & Shops

Corey Hill offers a diverse range of dining options in the area (some are in next-door Washington Square and Coolidge Corner) that cater to different tastes and preferences. From cozy cafes and casual eateries to fine dining establishments, Corey Hill features a variety of cuisines providing residents with a multitude of choices.

  • Bartaco: Upscale street food including tacos, rice bowls, and cocktails in a hip environment in the heart of Washington Square.
  • Chilacates: Featuring a great selection of Mexican cuisine, this Beacon Street restaurant replaced the old Anna’s Taqueria and is a popular spot to grab a burrito or taco bowl.
  • Grainne O'Malley's Tavern: Welcoming & bustling Coolidge Corner mainstay offering basic pub fare, draft beers, and a cool outdoor seating area. Less than half a mile from Corey Hill.
  • Lakon Paris Patisserie: Opened in 2023, Lakon Paris Patisserie serves up some of the most tasty pastries and croissants in Brookline. That’s why there’s often a line!
  • The Publick House: Vast beer selection, fairly priced food, and a fun environment make this a favorite of Brookline residents.
  • Rod D: Popular take out spot for Thai food at the foot of Summit Avenue.
  • The Abbey: Popular bistro serving classic American cuisine from 11 AM until 2 AM.
  • Washington Square Tavern: Located in next door Washington Square, this popular restaurant is a great place to eat at the bar or sit outside. With its creative drinks and consistently delicious food, the Tavern as its owner, Gerry, refers to it, is a Brookline staple!

Daycares

  • Top Tots Learning Center: Conveniently located at the foot of Lancaster Terrace, Top Tots has been in Brookline for more than 15 years.
  • School is Cool Childcare: Located on Marion Street, this is a newer facility that is basically across the street from the Summit Ave T-Stop.
  • Tiny World Child Care Inc.: Across the street from Summit Path on the opposite side of Beacon Street, this is a popular choice for families in Brookline.

Supermarkets

  • Bazaar: At the foot of Summit Avenue on the Beacon Street side is Bazaar, which sells fresh, inexpensive produce, and international specialties that are as delicious as they are hard to find.
  • Whole Foods: On the smaller side of Whole Foods establishments and based in Brighton on the corner of Corey Road and Washington Street, this is one of the closest grocery stores for Corey Hill residents and offers fresh produce, a butcher, and fresh seafood section.
  • Stop & Shop: Located In neighboring Coolidge Corner but less than a mile from Corey Hill, this popular supermarket is an easy place to shop for food.
  • Trader Joes: In nearby Coolidge Corner, this bustling grocery store is one of the busiest and most popular places to go food shopping for Brookline residents.

  • Brookline Ballet School: Popular studio where kids learn ballet.
  • Olive Connection: Fun place to shop for olive oil and more located at the foot of Summit Avenue along Beacon Street.
